The Opportunity
Are you ready to dive into an exciting and dynamic role within the healthcare industry? Reporting to the Financial Controller, we are looking for a savvy Accountant to work in our fast-paced accounts team and assist with financial reporting, accounting, ad hoc project work and financial analysis as required. With strong technical accounting knowledge coupled with solid written and verbal communication skills, you will network across the business. We are looking for a tech-savvy and analytical individual to work alongside our motivated Managing Director to focus on process-improvement and business efficiency.
To be suitable for this role you must have prior Accounting experience, be a motivated self-starter, quick learner and be able to manage tight deadlines. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a senior role and expand your skillset in other key areas of the Accounts function.
The Role
As the Accountant you will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
Daily EFT and cash receipting.
Prepare daily cashflow reports and assist in the preparation of budgets and cashflow forecasts, as required.
Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations and assuring information is accurate and correct, including investigating any problems and finding solutions where variances occur.
Prepare and manage supplier payment runs.
Create, post and review transactions and general ledger entries (as required).
Assist with month-end and EOFY reconciliations, including the preparation of general journals, intercompany journals and reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and associated schedules.
Assist with the maintenance of the group’s fixed asset registers.
Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet items.
Compliance reporting for key stakeholders.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, as required.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
You will have experience working in a similar ‘hands-on’ role. Additionally, you will also be required to demonstrate the following:
Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent.
Recent, relevant work experience with at least 1-2 years professional experience in an accounts team.
CA/CPA qualified or currently completing.
High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
Excellent communication skills and experience with internal and external stakeholders.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to multi-task, work reliably, both autonomously and as part of a team.
Exposure to staff mentoring/management.
Accounting software experience with Xero will be highly regarded (but not essential).
